Obtaining v5 for donor
I bought a part built kit from a guy last year which I plan to make a start on this winter. However I don't have the v5 for the donor. I do
have the vin plate and a section of steel from the car with the chassis number stamped on.
I do not know what the registration number was when the donor was on the road.
What are the implications I may be facing on registering this kit once it is finished?
I am sure many of you have been through this before.
Thanks Rich

You will be issued with a Q plate I believe.
Where I work at Renault, we can search a chassis number to get a reg, maybe you can find someone at Ford (I assume that is the donor) to do the
same?
Once you have the reg you can fill out a V62, get a new logbook and go for an age related plate.

Thanks Shaun. I thought I may have to go for the Q plate. However I may be able to get someone to search the chassis number. I had tried doing that on
the web but got nowhere so assume manufacturers have a different system.

Yes most manufacturers use in house systems, most of the internet based ones use a reg number to search DVLA information.
