Front indicators

Do these have to be 400mm max from the out side edge. The drawing I have says sidelight have to be 400 max but doesn't mention Indicators. It does say that indicators have to be at least 500mm apart. If this is all correct Can I mount small stalk indictors on the nose cone with out extensions?

The outside edge of the indicator lens must be no more than 400mm from the point of the car that is furthest from the centre-line. I know that's an odd way of saying it, but when you check it, make sure that you're measuring from the widest part.
For example, some 7's are wider at the rear than at the front, so it's no use measuring to the outside of the front wheel - you have to draw a line forward from the rear wheel arch and measure to that.
My SVA inspector parked so that a line on the floor was parallel to the centreline of the car. He then measured from that line to the outside of the indicators, then to the outside edge of the front and rear wings (or whatever was sticking out the furthest).

rgds,

David
