Viento IVA Pass
I did it
Passed my IVA today after failing a couple of weeks ago. Great feeling and it goes without saying that the pass is in no small part down to the help
provided by the people on this forum, so thanks to everyone that has given me advice over the years.
The fixes from the first test were
I) Speedo - moved the sensor to the output side of the diff, now rock solid and reading accurately beyond 90mph (limit of what he tested and above
what he needed to test at)
ii) Brake balance. I had done the clevis's up too tight against the barrel of the bias bar so it wasn't adjusting properly. Moved them
out a bit and now working much better
iii) Noise. Repacked the silencer with acousta-fil and put a db killer in the can. I also found evidence that I had over stated the revs at peak
power, so we did the retest at lower revs (but with the repack it would have passed at the higher revs anyway).

So now all I have to do is to get DVLA to give me a number plate and away we go...
... so what do I build next

Congrats Mate! Well Done! Bit wet this morning as well! How much did you manage to get the decibels down too? Bit worried about mine now!

Thanks. I was watching the weather all morning, but the rain stopped just before we set out. In the end, it was 97db at 4000rpm (the official level
for the test) and 99 at 4500rpm.

Well done. another prospective attendee at Stoneleigh.

I will be at Stoneleigh but I would imagine only in the tin top as its extremely unlikely that the DVLA will get the registration documents back to me
on time - particularly as I had wrongly assumed that I could just download the forms and get them sent off this afternoon. However, it turns out that
you have to order them on line, which then takes a few days for them to arrive by post (how quaint!). Should have done my research.

Congrats!!! I have to reiterate your comment of the guys in this site being so knowledgable and helpful, I would have struggled getting my first build
to pass SVA. Now all you need is to sort your registration and your away!
Well done and hope the summer brings plenty of good weather for you!
