SORN
Our Locost has been on the road now since September.
When we registered the car in September I took the original Escort documents to the DVLA in Leeds along with the other required docs.
Thursday morning I get a letter from the DVLA regarding the old Escort and SORN. They are wanting me to tax the car or declare it SORN again.
The Escort no longer exists, the DVLA were the last people to physically handle the log book so what should I do now?
I think the best thing is to phone them on Monday and see if they can find the car on their computer system.

I had the same problem, so rang swansea to be told that if I didnt send them a letter to tell them that they had the documents, then I would be fined
£80.
I got a bit pi$$ed off with them on the phone since they had been given the docs at the time of registering the 7.
Cut a long story short I wrote on the SORN document that the car had been scraped and they had the documents.
Also ask for a letter of confirmation that they have scraped it off on their data base.

I'm sure I've got one, just don't know where I've put it

I also had the same. Got really pissed with them. All they could keep saying when I called them was they wanted me to write to them to tell them what
had happened to the car. I told them to stuff it, why waste my time when they had taken the log book off me, and knew full well what had happened to
the car. Got the office managers name and time of call and not heard anything back.

Thanks, I don't see why it's up to me to sort out their clerical error either. I'll phone 'em on monday and let them know
they have the log book and they are the owners of the car

Ive had no problems with sorn yet, but it did take them 4 months to get the V5 to me .When i rang them asking where it was they denied all knoledge of
my car and said it did not exist according to there records. I eventually got a phone call from a very helpful chap at Northampton who was the person
that inspected my car for the vin.
He was very apologetic and explained that Swansea had lost all the paperwork and he manged to get it sorted, imglad i wasnt stopped by the cops in
the mean time as i would of had a hell of a job explaining to them.I would also have been imune to speed cams , pity i didnt know.
