help a french buider

Hi

i finished buiding my mk indy
but the french administration doesn’t like kitcars.
-very hard to obtain a regulation ( ie: current exhaust emissions
should be the same as 2005 cars)
- and very expensive (more than £9000)
so, I decided to pass sva, during my construction, y took
sva 2004 manual as reference.
but I have to be an uk resident in order to register my car
(at least 3 months) to provide an utility bill.
would a phone bill be considered as a utility bill?
any suggestion? Help very appreciated

I'm pretty sure a phone bill would be ok.

Will you be able to re-register your car in France even if it has a valid UK registration? I thought that you would not be able to re-register or insure with out type approval (crash testing etc).

I'm amazed that a country like France, which once led the world in privately designed and built aircraft, can't get its head around kit cars.
All goes to show how lucky we are in the UK - SVA is a PITA, but at least it's a legal way to get a car on the road.

i can get an uk adress to obtain sva.
i shall rent uk insurance like a french people working in england.
i should be able to drive in france during one or two years.
after, i can re register my to the french administration as many british people who lives in france..

Very suprised by that considering france has a booming motorsport industry. What about registration in Jersey then import to france..........

ISTR France law isn't good for classic cars either they are only allowed to be used in a 50km radius of the own where they are registered.

Are you allowed to import them if someone else registers them in another country.

Remember that you will have to return the car to England every year for its MOT test. Without this the insurance is invalid.

Where are abouts in france are you? I have a [british] friend who lives near Dieppe and can probably help you.

Just remembered I think that also you don't have to be the owner to be the 'registered keeper'
