Starter motor/solenoid contacts covers
Just thinking to IVA and the need to cover the contacts for the fuel pump etc with rubber boots, is it also a requirement to cover the Starter
motor/solenoid contacts too?

I did, simply because the xflow solenoid is a separate unit that's screwed to the chassis. Because of this, the live 12v terminal is VERY close
to the chassis, so it seemed sensible to cover it properly. Not covering it would be like leaving the cover off the live battery terminal.

indeed, even if it wasn't an iva requirement, what happens if you drop a nut, screwdriver or spanner in that area?
old style ht leads (the coil/distributor end) covers should work well

done that ! 1) it hurt as I stupidly went in with a too short screwdriver to knock the spanner away and 2) it welds itself up in a mass of sparks and
heat!
covered them up after that!
