Chassis clearance?

Does anyone know if there is a minimum height for underside chassis/body clearance for the IVA test? With speed bumps id guess there will be a minimum height to get over them?

Thanks

I actually don't think there is a minimum....I await to be corrected.

SVA for me (MK Indy) and I don't recall any clearance being specified.

No clearance I've ever heard of or read about.

During my IVA last week, the tester drove my Westfield into the brake rollers and it just sat on the sump (Mazda 1.8 engine)! He had to test the brakes with a piece of kit sat in the passenger seat.

I reckon I have about 6cm!

I've found 10cm under the lowest point [sump for me] is enough to be OK for most situations as long as you drive carefully over seed bumps.

Ideally 100mm a lot of people get away with 75mm anything under that your asking for trouble.

I'm running the MK1 1.8 in my MK Locost, think I have at least 10cm of clearance, but I have cut the oil cap off and taken the timing belt cover off so it could go a little higher.

I think the MK2 1.8 sup is a bit smaller but fits on the MK1 (thats what I've been told, but I haven't had a MK2 sump in my hand to check) but its worth looking into if you are having problems.

I have no idea what I'm doing.
