Quick Engine Clarrification Of Age
Hi guys,
My Zetec 2.0L number starts NGA a gap then VD and 5 numbers.
Is the age "VD" so from Burton November 97?
Is a clear photograph ok for IVA testers to define it as the engine age to do emissions too?
Anyone know where I can find the emission values for the engine test and if it has to be CAT of no CAT?
Many thanks all!!!

Hi,
I thought so. What emissions levels does it have to meet? O.5 co2?

For November 1997 it would be:
Fast Idle: (2500 to 3000rpm) CO <= 0.3% - HC <= 200ppm
Lambda between 0.97 and 1.03
Idle: (450 to 1500rpm) CO <=0.5%
However, if the engine number starts NG that would be April 1992, so would be:
CO <= 3.5%
HC <= 1200ppm

Hi guys,
Yeah the first number is NGA and seems to be pointing at November 93 from emails a few years ago from where the engine came from. Could this be a
November 93 engine, if so, does it still need a CAT?
