sva and number of seats

I'm undecided as to wether or not I should bother putting a 2nd seat in my locost but if I SVA it with one seat would I then have to re-SVA it if I ever decided to put a passenger seat in?

Thanks,

Mark

Im no expert but from what i have heard, if you have seatbelt mounts on the passenger side then the SVA chappie will or can deem it to be a 2 seater even if there is no seat in there and he will test it for dash projections etc as if there were to be a seat and possibile passenger there too.

Just what i have heard.

Cheers. I must admit I hadn't even considered what effect not putting a passenger seat in the car would have on the test. Basically I was just trying save myself time and money given the seat wouldn't be used much. I wondered if I could always stick one in later.

Having asked the question it's pretty obvious I'd be giving myself more work as it'll be easier to do the mounts for the seats and belts without any bodywork and there's always the risk of not being able to get a 2nd seat to match.

Thanks anyway,

Mark

If I were the SVA inspector and someone turned up with only one seat I would be tempted to think they were taking the p**s and it might influence how I viewed the rest of the vehicle.

Just a thought

Anyway, a nice, soft, padded seat may well cover a bunch of small radius things that would otherwise fail you!

Fair point. I'll be putting two seats in
