Foam tubing is it acceptable
Hi just tidying up the front end and was planning on putting some foam tubing over the track rod ends as sharp edge with the nut there and also
probably over the bottom of the shock where the spring sits in.
Will this be acceptable and will it looked permant enough ?

I used plastic conduit with no problems, you should be fine with the foam.
Just secure it along the length with some te wraps, the SVA man didn't even give it a second glance.

well i can assure you that someone said they failed on it, but as you say, its a very minor thing to change, and at least if it does fail you can ask
the tester exactly what he wants to see! keep us posted?

i think Snuggs used the foam pipe lagging. He had to use the high density stuff tho (so you cant feel the nut when you depress with thumb - or
something like that). Hopefully Snuggs will be able to shed some light on this.
Whatever you use secure it with cable ties and not tape (making sure the cable tie heads are at the back).

I used a spare balljoint cover (small end over track rod / large end over locknut and TRE) and it looked good and passed SVA. However this is the kind
of area which is open to interpretation - depends on what your tester thinks.

I used the soft black pipe lagging.
Just superglued the edges together.

Tifosi sell a purpose made gaiter for the track rod ends for about 3 quid.
might be worth considering.
