Regsitering car
I am registering my car at Brighton and was going to wait for the guy to ring me and come to my house to inspect it but they told me they do
inspections at the office on Monday and Wednesday mornings so was thinking of going down there tommorrow to sort it.
I am just wondering if others have driven there or got it trailered?
Rich.

As long as you are insured and have an appointment then you can drive there with no plates.

I thought that only applied to MOT's and SVA's - are you sure?
Cheers

Oooeer! A moot point there Rich! Another good reason for inspecting before SVA! Why they changed it I really cannot fathom.
Strictly speaking, your car is road legal in that you have passed SVA already, its just the reg. plates and tax. You will be taking it to the DVLA
office for that purpose (tax and reg and final inspection), so I cannot see why, if you are insured you shouldn't drive it. I would say here,
though, that it may be worth a phone call to your insurers to explain the situation and see what they say.
HTH Fozzie
PS Rich, does that mean the chocolate caramel biccies are 'off' tomorrow?

I'm afraid Fozzie that I may have to postpone it as if I can get it sorted it probably makes sense to get it done. Then I would have to stay at
work until 5pm and I have a cricket match at work on thursday but may be able to do friday, I'll confirm by U2U if that's ok!
Is hat ok?
Rich.

Corse it is! Getting the car on the road, is far more important, I remember it well! Plenty of time/days for choccie caramels!
Good luck, hope all goes smoothly!

Yes Mark, probably on Sat but may go on Sun as well.
When I had my car inspected the nice girl at the DVLA asked me to bring the car to the office, I asked if it was OK to drive over without plates and
she said no problem as I had an appointment.
