Donor Vehicle
Whot ho .
For various reasons I have ended up with a nearly completed MK Indy bec and no V5 for my donor car. I went down to my friendly breaker and had a chat
(as you do) and they will sort out a V5 from a sierra ,but…..they say the DVLA may want to see the donor vehicle. Is that common is evidence of the
vehicle ( photos etc ) enough?

Never heard of them wanting to see the donor vehicle. I hope they dont as mines in the shape of a box about a meter cubed now as I had it scrapped.
They will probably want to check that the serial numbers match up on the V5 but you wont be able to do that as the engine number wont match the one on
the V5 as youve got a bike engine not a pinto.

Ive just had my build up inspection done and they defo didnt want to see the donor car. They just came out to make sure the chassis etc was new (you
will need chassis reciepts etc) andthey checked the kit car chassis number and engine number.
I had a lot of success by sending a letter to local DVLA office. The inspector there got in touch with me and gave a lot of excellent advice. i
proposed my chassis number in the letter and they approved it.
