Pre-SVA photos
I've gone and done it. My SVA is booked for Thursday.
OK so I'm now officially worried. Please can you look at my photos to see if I've done anything obviously wrong other than not wash the car
before taking photos of it.

Looks good!
You will need to cover the adjusting nut on the front suspension. Radio controlled model car tyres do the trick apparently, and they arent
expensive.

I'm not sure if my mirrors are a bit on the low side.

The scuttle is slightly wider than the sides of the car due to me not measuring it properly. Will this cause me a problem?

Radius on front of silencer looks sharp and rev counter too. Is rev counter in permissible zone around steering wheel.
Top wishbone mounts and coilovers possibly sharp too if contacted.
I used to be apathetic but now I just don't care.

Ox is lending me a silencer and cat for SVA so that's OK. The clocks should be just inside the exemption zone if I've got it right.
What can I do about the top wishbone mounts? because of the rubber wishbone inserts, there isn't room to put edge trim over them.

Track rod extension looks like it has some sharp bits. Worth covering up.
Rear lights - screw holes - are they OK? I quizzed SVA man and he advised taking along a tube of silicon just in case.
Car looks well smart. Does it self centre?
What about wiring security under bonnet etc.

Looks good. Just a thought as I have noticed it on mine, so you think you may need to pad the two bars in the footwells that are below the dash
line?
What did you use for your indicator extensions as they look really good?
Good luck.

the diagonal chassis rails are below the dash. Might have to pad those, just in case. Is cable tied pipe lagging OK? If not, I have some vinyl
cloth that I used to trim the handbrake and gear lever. I can cover the lagging with this. that would be a lot of work though.
The indicator extensions are made from 15mm copper plumbing pipe with nuts hammered and epoxied into the ends. The sleve is plastic electrical
conduit which just hapens to be a snug fit. It it then covered in carbon effect film which I got off ebay. Drilling along the M8 bolt that holds it
to the scuttle was fun. It was the only way to get the wires through.

Colin, car looks great. Edges of the top wishbone mounting brackets (on the chassis) are tricky.
I wrapped thick foam around the nut covers (the cover on the wishbone bolt) and that stopped the sphere hitting the edge of the bracket. I hope you
understand. I've U2U'd you my phone number call me if you don't understand.
I hope to see the car at the next dry South Birmingham Locost meet

To cover chassis bracket, I riveted a strip of ally to the chassis, then bolted through bracket. Used edge trim on ally.

Rear fog light has to be vertical in relation to ground, it looks like you might need to wedge it a bit.

thanks caber. I hadn't spotted that and you're right. Maybe I can trim the black plastic "cup" that it sits in.

Birmingham. Thursday 10th. 8:00 am. I have a big sense of doom growing. surely I haven't thought of everything.
I have an "MOT" tomorrow so I'll finally be able to take it out on the road.
