SVA nearly passed at Shrewsbury today
Just got back for spending 8 hours at Shrewsbury SVA and nearly passed. Only 3 points to rectify
I need to say a big thank you to Andytmc and his father for helping me out of a massive problem with the rear brakes.
I'd also like to thank Mark and Stuart (the examiners) for helping me understand the process and for answering all of my questions throughout
the day.
Fail points
1. Self centering
2. Headlights - beam pattern alignment made worse by the lens being able to be rotated
3. Dashboard radius - 15mm not 19mm
I'll post further details once Ive dried out from the log flume I experienced encountering standing water this morning.

Dashboard radius can be less than 19mm so long as it is padded, rubber edged etc - maybe simpler than re-profiling

Yeah, Thats exactly what I'm going to do - pad it rather than re profile. According to my manual it only then needs to be 5mm and not have the
ability to feel the sharp edge ( if any)

Glad we were able to help, you did really well and were unlucky not to get through first time.
The convoy drive home was good fun - hopefully a taster of more to come!

Yup, I can feel more drives coming on in the VERY near future.
Ive just investigated my self centering problem starting with tyre pressures first, and found my NSF to be at 20psi, ie about normal for everyday
running NOT SVA and my OSF to be at 10psi - ie low even for track days.
Ive pumped them both up to around 35psi and will probably go to 40 psi for the retest. I'll also do a few more laps of the yard to decide
whether i need a couple more turns of toe out on the OSF track rod end as I only applied 2 turns to the NSF last time.
