A transparent question.
Or perhaps a question of transparency.
I'm thinking WAY WAY ahead here but does anyone know if you have to use kite marked glass for side windows?
I was reading in PPC an article a while back about using perspex for the side windows. However this was in a car that wouldn't be subject to
SVA. I've read through the manual but can't see that it says anywhere that side windows have to be kite marked glass but was wondering if
any of you wonderful lot had come across this in the past?
Who the f**K tightened this up!

Do it after SVA and then you can use what you like - as long as you feel safe with your choice of material.

SVA wanted to see the markings on my side windows, which since 3" of the windows remains in the door meant taking a door trim off to show
him....

after speaking with a couple of chaps at silverstone a few months back who were testing there ultima looking track car there i recal one of them
saying to make it road legal would require using glass on the front instead of the relativly cheap and easily shaped perspex but mentioned the side
windows were not an issue.

That is my understanding of the situation too. I have a feeling that if glass of any kind is used anywhere it needs to be kite marked - polycarbonate
side or rear windows are ok.

You can use polycarb etc for side window panels in rallying etc and they are road legal...

Hmmmm mixed opinions here...
I think I'm gonna be safest giving the nice SVA people (no comments please) a ring to get it from the horses mouth.
Thanks anyway guys. I'll post what I find out when I call them for future reference.
