I think I know why

Don't think there's a retest period, mine was a month between test and retest.
I'd just remove plates, make up a chassis number and try it.

There is a retest period. 6 months.
The retest costs 30 quid but after the 6 months you have to pay the full price again.

Yep i can confirm 6 months as said above,i just looked through my pile of rubbish (filed pieces of SVA info)

You can build a car in 6 months, so a retest should be no problem
