EU countries
Hello Chaps,
Would I be right in thinking that if you had a car correctly registed here, you'd be ok to move to any other EU country and register it
there?
Cheers
Chris

I'm pretty sure you have to pay import tax no matter if its an EU country or not, although i'm not sure about self builds.

Not so sure about other EU countries, but in France, you are allowed to drive on "foreign" plates as a tourist for just three months.
After three months, if you plan to stay, your vehicle will need French number plates.
The re-registration process can be quite complex depending on type of vehicle. I'm sure that each EU country will have different procedures, so
it's probably best to check the regulations in the country you're thinking of registering in

well
the import tax will depend on wy do you come?
also it depends on the age of the vehicle and also his engine size? new/day value etc. etc.
In my case there wasn't any tax due to complete movement to spain.
But then you have laws and laws need papers so in our case for a normal Opel Corsa we needed homologation papers.
also for anxileries like the ball (the pull ball wich you use to pull a caravan)
when everything is right and you pay the tax you are done.
then offcourse you need insurance etc.
Regards,
Tks
just do it.... the problem for an kitcar would be homologation papers..
in spain you will need often a engineers project.
Alex should talk about his movement..
for more info
The above comments are always meant to be from the above persons perspective.

Here in France if there is no import company for the make of your car, you have to have an homologation before reregistering your car.
But this homologation is very expensive (lots of very expensive tests...) and you have to give a lot of papers for each part of your car. You have to
write a complete book !!! It's totaly crazy !!!!
That's the reason I passed the SVA in UK.
