Fuse/Relay box on dash
Looking into sorting wiring soon, and I am contemplating mounting the fuse/relay box on the "centre-console" section of the dash to make
it nice and accessible as I am contemplating doing some navigational rallies with it.
Just wondering about radius requirements, this is what I was thinking about using:
Which has a clip-on cover which "looks" like it should meet the radius requirements:
What does everybody think?

It looks like a nice enough piece of kit. If youre buying a premier loom, it'll come with all relay holders and fuse holders so you'll
have to undo some of the work they do. Kin of defeats the point of buying it I reckon.
Personally, I wanted to hide the fuses & relays behind the dashboard as I wouldnt like to have to look at the holders each time i got in the car
and I doubt I'd like to look at that grey lid either, though if I was to mount the fuse box on the dash for rally purposes like you I wouldnt
mind looking at the grey lid shown.
I'm not sure whether Mr SVA would be too happy with being able to take off the lid and access the fuses from the driving position as they could
affect the safe running of the car so I would mount them infront of the passenger/co driver just in case.

Only thing I can see is the 'strengthening' ribs on the clips might need smoothing down a bit to get 2.5mm radius.
Also it's another thing to worry about if it's parked. Some thieving scrote knicking your fuses/relays leaving you stranded.

I'm not buying a loom, just making from scratch as the wiring is not very involved on the car (made a few rally car looms before) with no
wipers, washers, heater etc and the fuel injection/ignition loom is all fully self contained too.
Think I will need 4 relays and max of 8 fuses.
I've been put off tho already by the price of that box unit, with all the bits I will need, will come to around £60, which sounds a bit steep to
me.

Premier Wiring had some nice combined fuse+relay boxes last time I looked - a lot cheaper than £60, but maybe still unsuitable for the car
interior.
