Windscreen

Ok guys. If one (that's the royal one not the number) was to buy a windscreen used on a production car, for instance a mini or lotus, can anyone forsee any problems when it comes to sva time?

Also does anyone know if there are any minimum specifications for windscreen supports? I cant see anything in the sva manual.

Who the f**K tightened this up!

The srceen must be up to the relevant BS? standard and marked as such, otherwise can't see a problem. Don't know about the supports, but since many make their chassis, as long as it doesn't bend, ie use 3-5mm+ plate I can't personally see a prob.
Quote from a recent thread,
"Recently did the same, and as I couldn't find a firm locally that could do the correct BS, (but could do BS6206), I contacted SVA, and was told by a very rude chap, that ONLY the stated BS was acceptable, ie BS857 or BS857/2. Had a hell of a job finding a firm that actualy did it, miles away, and very expensive. Sorry this is not much help to you, but if the guy was correct, and I can only assume he was, then your piece of glass is no good." (Chippy)

Not sure what that means in the way of using an old screen though. I assume as long as it has the correct BS maked, you'll be fine.
