Is it an SVA requirement to use rubber lined p clips to brake and fuel lines or can i use the plastic type?

Plastic p clips are fine for SVA just make sure they are not to far apart.

Think your OK with plastic ones....thats what Tiger supplied me with and what I've used through out the car....so better be OK! Oli.

it is one of those grey areas ... probably says should be firmly secrured or some such wording; how it is achieved is open to interpretation.

I used plastic with no problems. Combo of plastic p-clips and also cable ties that have a clip in the base that secure into a drilled hole.

So does that mean that I could get away with cable ties holding all my braided lines to chassis rails every 200mm or so?

As long as the mount is attached properly, and the cable tie only attaches the line to the mount and not the chassis as well. As said, the wording is
something like "must be securely attached every 300mm or less".

My problem is that I have got all the plumbing and looms going through the tunnel. My hydraulic lines (on the bottom rail) are braided from the m/c
right to the calipers. My rad pipes are insulated with silver foil bubble wrap and are wedged in tight. I could easily strap them all together and
they would be really secure.

Any reason why not?
My front lines do about a foot along and back a pair of round tubes and they are currently cable tied.
KCW did that part of the build so I'd expect them to know?

Only reason I say is if you use the mounts, I assumed the sva man would rather you used them, rather than just tieing the lines straight to the
chassis. Otherwise, if you don't use tyhe mounts, I can't see a problem with just tie wrapping stuff down.

It must not rub or chafe, ie so it wears through and becomes a fault liability.
So fix them well, and make sure they cant move or rub on the chassis. ie secure them with some rubber wrapped around the pipe where the tie wraps are,
so it cant chafe on the chassis.
I used stainless P clips with the rubber inserts in them for the brake and fuel lines.
I havent got as far as a SVA so dont know if its OK or not
