MK Supplied Wing Mirrors

Has anybody used these mirrors for their SVA test. If so do you have any photos showing how you positioned them. Due to the awkward way they adjust I'm having difficulty with rearwards visibility at anything approaching a sensible position. I can see rearwards if I set them such that the mounting bracket protrudes from the rubber cover as shown in the 2nd photo, but that just looks wrong.

They were supplied by MK and I'm fitting them to an MK scuttle.

They look a bit like mine. This is where I fitted mine (MK scuttle). Passed SVA at Newcastle, but I guess dependant on seat height and rear arches.

Mine (from Mac#1) are the same as Guinness's and positioned more or less the same height but a few inches further forward (in front of the windscreen lip). I get an OK view over the rear arches and there was no problem with SVA. I found that the rubber shroud thingy doesn't quite cover the base properly, but I have got used to it now. Problem is not so much that I can't see past rear my rear wings etc., it is that they won't adjust such that I can see anything to the rear of the car. That is unless I pivot them forwards, which exposes the base plate, or have them at a strange angle such that they are at about 45 degrees to the ground.

Yeah they passed on Benzines car. I'm going to get some aswell. Just have a look at the end of your exhaust pipe though, does it stick out too much (past the edge of the body)? Just another thing for SVA.

No, exhaust doesn't stick out further than bodywork.

Thanks everybody, based on pictures posted I think I may have found a couple of positions that work. Just need to get someone to hold the mirrors at the weekend so that I can get a view when seated properly.

Doe anyone know how to tighten the swivel where the stalk enters the mirror housing? One of mine is much looser than the other, as supplied.
