Amateur Built Declaration?
Applied for my SVA last week, got a letter this week from VOSA asking for amateur built declaration - i.e. was the vehicle built by me or someone else
in the trade, and what bits were assmbled to the chassis by me.
Is this normal?
Thanks,
Tim

Just got amateur declaration friday. Sent it back straight away. Why the hell is n't it in the sva form?
More paperwork and red tape!
Test should be soon!

I was wondering why it isn't on the original form?
Wonder how long before I get to hear when the test is?

the reason this is not on the form is to check you out thats why they send it to your home address
you could have had it built by a company or manufacturer in which case it would be a different class of s.v.a test obviousley harder
so this is why they check up
I don't think that is the reason. They have to send you your paperwork and your test date to your address.

My guess would be that they intend to change the form in the future but have not updated it yet.
You have to remember that this is a Gov Dept we are talking about!
Not generally at the cutting edge!!!!
I'm sure that when they untangle all that red tape they'll sort it properly, bless em!
For now just accept it and go with the flow...
There are far more stressfull things to worry about as your SVA approaches.. Trust me.
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want!!!

Two different organisations! VOSA and DVLA - loosely associated, but separate.
At least Chelmsford has a 'greasy spoon' wagon parked in one corner of the yard, for the HGV drivers waiting for their annual vehicle
inspection!

What's the code for the amateur declaration form?
Cheers,
