Is 6 full turns enough for SVA?

Is 6 full turns of a wheel nut enough to satisfy the SVA fella,
I have 8 full turns on the rear but only 6 on the fronts!!
I have tried the search option in the forum for a topic but failed to find, I am sure there was a thread on this subject not long ago.
Thanks,
Steve.

yes, the minimum i've ever heard required for sva is 6 turns.

you only get 6 turns in an m12 nut, just to put it into perspective.

The studs do not show through the nuts but the chrome nuts are almost twice as deep as the original Ford ones.

If it were me, I'd be looking for longer studs...I'd only trust that little engagement if my granny were driving. Maybe not even then! On open nuts, I like to have at least 1-2 threads showing proud of the nut...

Six turns is not enough. You'll only be using about 9mm of thread length. On a 12mm stud you need to be screwed on at least 12mm thread length.
Change your studs for longer, it's an easy job, the studs are cheap.

Be safe.

Cheers,

Dave

Been going through the same question. The Ultralites on my Viento leave me with only 5 full turns so have measured up for new studs. Merlin Racing do studs in a few lengths and it looks like their 15/8 studs will give me enough engagement.
Best of luck
Simon

I was advised today to use original ford nuts on the front to make them fully comply. HE said the aftermarket ones were "borderline" he looked at how far the bolt came through the nut and not the number of truns.

Bolt should be "most or the way" through the nut at minimum.
