Insurance?

Kinda legal related?

Anyone used these for insurance...

http://www.osborneandsons.co.uk/specialcars.html#2

Currently with A.FLUX @ £303 (wiv 42squid euro cover)

These have quoted £205 (without euro cover)

They say club membership discount too, perhaps I'll have to join the MK clan

Who is anyone else using/recommend?

Flux have sent a sheet saying they'll Guarantee to beat any other quote, so probably give that a whirl.

I've Just tried ecar - they seems to be for standard cars only (online) - unless I'm missing summit!

S'pose I could pretend I've got a Cateringvan! and select that from the drop down...

Scuppered!..FAQ says "We do not yet offer classic car insurance". - guess thats the closest we get to car type.

I've just renewed mine with Sureterm for £154 for the year on a 5000mile policy, might be worth giving them a buzz.

I'm with Sureterm too. Was £150 per year, until I added my wife to the policy then it came down to £135 Fully comp, 7k value, 7k miles.

Take my advise and dont insure with Adrian F**ks. Charged £210 for thirty days cover. Had a major problem at SVA, in as much as roll bar needed replacing with thicker, by the time I had got a new one bent up and fitted, booked my return visit to SVA, it took forty one days. Insurance cancelled at thirty seven, and they wouldn't budge, either on refund, or extention of time. So insured with Footman James, £195 for the same deal, and no time limit. So for my money AF can go F themselfs. Chippy

I have just been quoted £349 for my Indyblade by Footman James which seems rather a lot to me given what some people have been paying.

Will try elsewhere.

Now got these.

Sureterm = £287
Graham Sykes = £275
Adrian Flux = £177

Will now go back to FJ to see if they can improve.

Simon

Well there's a thing...

Footman James...

Online (with Type of engine) = Motor bike upto 1000cc

I got a quote of £139

Rang them - gave the same details and they quoted £355

Re did the online quote with Type of Engine as Car, to see if this was any different - same price - £139.

Rang them again and queried the online quote. They told me that the online price is invalid as I have a bike engine (as I stated?)

They then went on to quote me £385, 30 quid more than 5 mins before! (the same guy!)

Now I've just rang osbourneandsons (original post) to check that everything is OK with the details I gave and reitterate that I've a BEC - Yup no probs - £205 as per their original quote.

Rang Adrian Flux yesterday, £190 fully comp incl of breakdown, then Footman James, £161.70 for same. Rang Sureterm and I was told by the nice lady ring Footman James back cos we won't beat that!
Rang Adrian Flux this morning and gave them the quote from Footman James and hay ho, now it's £157-50.
As the man says haggle.

Yup

Adrian Flux in the end @ £240 (with euro cover) - £60 less than they originally quoted

They took off:-

£13 - road rage cover!??
£25 - unknown charge, (I'm sure they said that they'd get the actual insurer to pay it instead of me)

Then they matched Osborne & Sons by taking 20 odd quid of commission off.

Bloke @ AF was genuinely helpful & felt they wanted to keep me as a customer ,

(far better than the muppet I spoke to twice at FJ)
