Diff oil
I have an Escort live rear axle, and I would like to drain the oil. Trouble is, there's no drain plug!
Now, I don't want to take the axle out and turn it over, so is there an easier way?
I was wondering about pushing a bit of plastic tube down and pumping it out...
cheers,
David

I asked this a while back, and basically you can't. I didn't need to drain mine as it is pretty good at doin it itself - need to fix that
within the next week or so.
Using a syringe would be the way I'd go about or or just not worry about it & top it up.

Just loosen the diff bolts and give it a rattle the oil will come out past the gasket, quicker if it is warm! Without dropping the diff out you
can't clear any sludge that may be sitting in the bottom of the case, refilling can stir this crap up, not always a good idea:-)

results, works on valve stem seals etc too

Buy one of these from the chandlers. Works a treat for draining gearboxes and diffs.

i bought a casket for my axle ages ago, but never bothered changing it. Much easier to top it up instead. I'll change it when i get it in for
the winter.

yup, boat place, I think it is called a sump pump or maybe an oil change pump. Got mine from my local boating place (next to canal) for £9
found one:

more expensive version here:
