wrong V5 back from DVLA????
Registered my car last week with the DVLA, I got to keep the original registration of the donor as I had used pretty much all parts from it and a new
chassis and body.
Now the odd thing is that I have now been sent a new V5 for the sierra with all its details rather than a new V5 for my kit, is this normal?
I'm going to call them tomorrow but thoughts I'd ask here first.

Sounds way wrong... AFAIK DVLA state you can't 'keep' the donor reg although some have...
You should be allocated a new age related plate. The V5 should state the manufacturer and model you stated at registration...
Something has gone wrong at the DVLA offices - there's a surprise.
I was issued a P prefix rather than P suffix... took a while to clear up.

Mine kept the donor reg in 2000 and I've just posted something similar in another thread in here. The MOT station noticed they sent my log book
back with the donor VIN instead of the new one which they allocated my chassis, I'd never looked so now I've sent it back to get it
rectified.

thats what I had heard, I wasn't overly happy on the day as the guy who inspected my car said he'd get the "new girl" to do
the paperwork........
looks like another painful phone call and a trip to the office may may be in order

When I got my V5, they put it down as an estate, and axle plan as 2 axles + arctic. I was totaly unaware that I had built such a complicated vehicle.
The mind boggles, an estate towing a bloody great trailer. Needless to say it went back, (included a picture of the car), with a covering letter. Four
weeks later came back correct.  Ray.

4 months after registering mine I enquired about where the V5 had got to .They didnt have any record of it at all and had lost all the paerwork in the
system.Basically i had been driving an unregistered car for 4 months which could have been fun if id have known.
I was lucky in that the guy at Northampton DVLA who had inspected my car took a genuine interest and sorted it for me .

Similar happend to me - I recieved the paper work from a lady in Swindon instead of my paper work. I'm sure the DVLA employ the people who
don't manage to get a job at McDonalds.

Amy (my other half) went to the local DVLA office this morning.
I amended the V5 to show all the mistakes they had made, which basically left only my address and the engine number as correct and they have agreed to
make the changes and issue a replacement within the next week, I will also get to keep my current registration. I stil have a nagging doubt about the
year of registration and number of previous keepers, guess it’s a case of wait and see!
