Happy SVA fail

Had SVA at Chelmsford today, expected a fail, and did, but not on what what I thought.
Breezed the emissions, the machine checked against next years 'Betts' regs and it even passed that.
CO 0.15
HC 199
Lambda 1.012

Noise 95db (with half my can full of CAT)

Well Chuffed.

Failed on uneven front brakes (already stripped and rebuilt calipers).
Didn't pin bias, was going to do it there, but no point in the end.
Biggest surprise was head lamp spacing,
Note to all MNR owners, if you have the RT+, make sure your headlamps are far enough out (max 400 from edge of car).
I have the Std MNR lamp bar, but I was 415 from the edge.

Overall, very happy, and retest next Thursday.

Big thanks to Dion for helping me, and a very big thank you to Pete for lending me the CAT and emissions kit.
Steve

no too bad then,

just out of interest, where did they measure from for the headlights?,

if it was from the edge of the wheel, different offset wheels could change the distance to the headlight.

I take it the lamp bar isn't long enough then? I know the RT+ has a wider track but would have thought Marc would have had that problem before? How are you planning to get around that?

The 400mm dimension is taken from the Widest part of the cars side. Usually on a 7 its across the back axle / mudguards.

I had the same problems with the front indicators. I measured from the edge of the front muguards... Dohh!!!! (Easy fail point)

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Best Regards

You would have thought so, but maybe no other test centre has picked it up.
Most sevens are wider at the back. If you measure from there it's ok, but the RT+ is wider at the front,This is where he checked mine from.
Just beware.
It shouldn't be a problem, I plan to make and extension piece to get through, then go back to normal.

Well done Steve!

Thanks for the pictures by the way. Might do something very similar for my airbox...

Fingers crossed for next Thursday.

Chris.

It's a 5 x 30" re-packable can supplied by MNR. It's not the lightest, but its quiet.
I think the airbox helped a lot with the noise.
