Registed mine at Peterborough but when I dropped in was told the person that dealt with kit cars was on holiday and I would have to make an appointment . Left all my invoices etc and had to take car (without number plates ) to be inspected at appointed time . Inspection took all of ten minutes. As I had already had SVA left my sva pass (MAC) insurance was checked forms filled etc and was told that if I was lucky I would recieve tax the following day along with the paperwork needed to get number plates made up . Tax etc turned up a week later because the envelope had not been franked or a stamp put on! Can't remember the girls name but very helpful even if she suffers from memory loss. HTH

I made up my number but they will issue one to you if you want to do it that why.
I believe there are three letters you can not use (can not remember what they are one is i) they have to be 4mm high and also believe 17 letters or numbers long

Worth doing a search, covered quite a few times recently.
I wrote to local DVLA office, proposed number, they called back, confirmed OK and we made inspection appt over phone. They came to house and brought forms and helped me complete them.
Quite easy but Stockton is a bit better than most.

Should be a mix of letters and numbers 17 characters long. Can't use Z, Q, I,O.
