The cap you want is available from your ford dealer, it's part of the motorcraft range. Ask for a Fait strada super 75, motorcraft part number 5005566.

It apparently fit perfectly on to a X-flow dissy.

All the best Dan.

1300x/flow problem

Hi.
That's great!! is it a side exit one?

I'll be over to Halfords next week, the joy of living in Scotland, it takes days to get anywhere.

Got the information out of the Wallage book on tuning X-flows, so should be good, and yes it's the side exit one.

Now you're just trying to cheer me up as I'm moving up to Leuchars the first week in June.

Glad to help Dan.

I will have a look in my Xflow rebuid manual, but i am sure that the 1300 lump with twin 40 will require the inlet manifold to be taken off for any work to be done on the distributer (ie taken out)
even on the 1600 with side entry cap its all a tight fit, and the 1300 is about an inch shorter in the block

And dont forget there is two different types of dizzy fitted to the xflow, Bosch and Fomoco (IIRC). What colour is your present cap?

Junk the Fomoco dizzy. They wear and they are points only. You need the electronic one as Conrod has said from the Valencia engined Fiesta or Escort.

Any breakers will sell you on. Up here in the near north they can be had for about 15 quid. When you get it obtain a short bit of the loom with the plug on also.

As has already been said, on a 1300 in a book type chassis, using sidedraft carbs, it will be totally inaccessible!

1300crossflow dissy

I am also running 1300 crossflow but with single 40dcoe If its any help to any one I managed to shorten a Bosch dissy from the fiesta valencia engine ,actualy esier than it sounds if you have access to a lathe you also need to mount the amplifier remotely and use the fiat side entry cap .Much cheeper electronic ignition than Luminition set up.If anyone need more info please email
