Handbrake efficency

Looking though the SVA manual part 16.1 it says that the parking brake must be capable of being operated on all the wheels of at least one axle enabling the vehicle to be held on an up or down gradient.

However it dosnt say how much of a gradient, anyone know what the exact test is for the handbrake?

Couldn't tell you the exact percentage efficiency, but it's tested the same way as the main brakes - the tester heaves on the lever while the wheels fight against the rotating roller.

Section 16.5, note 5.1f; it fails if

"The calculated parking brake efficiency is less than 18%"
