SVA and sticking out air filter
Hi, I'm building an MK indi and have got a ford v6 in it. Prob is the air filter is sticking out about 3 1.2 inch's from the surface of
the bonnet. I can't lower the engine any more and was going to fit a scoop over it. Then I read that someone failed for having one of those in
the way as well. What's the score with filters, as it's not sharp. Could you please advise?

As long as it has the necessary radii and doesn't interfere with the specified visibility requirements it will be fine.

At a guess, and without checking my SVA manual, I'd say that as long as it's not in the field of vision and not sharp, it shouldn't
be a problem (just make sure every sigle edge meets the radius requirements!)
I'm sure someone witha manual to hand could give the specifications for fields of vision/radius'

Thanks David/Steve,
Yeh it sticks out much the same as Davids car in the small picture. If that's not going to be a problem then great, one more problem out if the
way. I'll have to get me a SVA manual, it sounds a mine field of a test. No wonder this cars been kicking around for 3 years...
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the manual, just what I was needing. I phoned up the local testing station last night and they said they hadn't kept manuals for
years now! I was really surprised as there are a lot of kit cars around Aberdeen.
Cheers, Scott.
