SVA requirements? Reverse Light....

Morning all,

hopefully a simple question.

Do I need a reverse light for SVA / MOT?

Can it be operated by a manual switch if nessercary?

Many thanks

No, not a requirement for either test.

BUT - if you do fit one, it must be either automatic (i.e. from a gearbox switch) or have a tell-tale light on the dash if switched manually.

...or so I believe!

No

You don't need one. If you have a manual one it must have a tell tale on the dash. There is a limit on the bulb size as well, something like 21 watts.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

21 Watts is correct, agree the above

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

As above, I didn't bother with any for two reasons. Couldn't decide where to put it, and the rear of car is about 2 feet from your head, so your rear side lights should provide enough illumination.
