protective steering

hi all
hope someone can help, im building a z cars mini which im putting through sva , can anyone give me any advice on modifying the steering column in line with sva/
at the moment it bolts directly to the rack and has no collapse section

Not certain but I think you can get away with a collapsable steering wheel boss.

Would be fairly simple to insert a collapsable section into the column, alternatively 2 u/j angled up & down or side to side will do the job.
