Chassis Number

Thought I'd share some information with you regarding the requirement of a chassis number.

A friend of mine had the VRO inspector came out to check his car was all from one donor etc and asked where the chassis number was stamped on the chassis. It wasn't so the inspector advised my mate that it needs to be stamped onto the chassis and an MOT station would have to sign a form to certify that they have seen this which would save him returning.

This requirement doesn't seem to be in any of the registration pack or other paperwork that DVLA send out. The VRO office was in Bristol and may vary around the country but it might save you some time waiting for extra paperwork to be completed.
