Wanted to see if the bike speedo was reading correctly prior to the journed to SVA station (there will be some naughty local shakedown driving ).
So jack up the rear end, remove the wheels and put axled down on axle stands (reason for removing wheels is to reduce the amount rotating mass).
A tip - best remove the brake drums too or at least put the wheel nuts back on or else they tend to come off
So first run shows that I should be able to do 60 mph in 1st gear That can't be right.!?!?!?
So I check tyre diameter with tape and it matches what I measured so thought a bit.........
...... I wonder if it is differential action i.e. only one wheel is moving but at 2x car speed.
A quick check showed that passenger side drum was tight enough to prevent that side from turning so indeed the driver's side was spinning too
fast.
Off came the drums - shoulda done that right at the start.
So speed in different gears at various rpms looks good to me.

Anywys with the drum off I could hear a small click - turned out to be the magnet hitting the sensor - what had happened was the brake drum had pushed
it forwards and it was no longer sitting tight. Using as grub screw instead of the screw supplied fixed that. (the magnet holder is one of those
brass buttons which fits onto a spoke - a short length of spoke, bent on the ends, holds it in place in an ali disc fitted core-plug style to one of
the holes in the drive flange) Now all it needs to do is survive 1 journey to and from SVA - is that too much to ask????
