I use one of those alloy jobbies with slightly longer stainless dome heads going through the bodywork on the side of the scuttle, its a 15 minute job
too change the tax disc but its only once a year, don't think I have a pic.

I bought a tax disc holder for a motorbike, then attached it to the upright section just inside the passenger side with a bit of velcro.
Not a permanent fixture, but much easier to take off and put in my pocket!
If you need, let me know and I can supply a pic.

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

Here's a bit better pic, also shows current state of play with rebuild, decided too fit a new panel on the passenger side, bit more work but
worth it.......

I use a motorbike type holder, bolted onto the near side of the dash panel facing the passenger. Probably not SVA friendly though, and I think
technically they might be supposed to face forwards? Ah well
