I had my home visit before SVA. After i handed in docs, MAC and cheque for Tax. They phoned me with reg number to satisfy insurance deadline and then registration plate doc and tax came out in post a few days later. You should in theory get reg plate doc and tax on your visit but worth phoning them first. Im suprised you havent had everything returned to you by now.

V5 took a while longer as it comes from Swansea but you dont need that for now.

Why did you MOT it? Not needed for 3 years from registration date. Now you are on the system you will need one every year unless you can get it reversed. This has been done before - a search should give you some pointers.

Basically take ALL the paperwork you can find and stick it in a ring binder - you will be less popular if you hand them a box of paper that looks like a waste paper bin
If possible have the major component receipts (chassis materials, engine, gearbox etc) marked for their convenience. If you appear organized it makes everything run smoother.
They will take photos of your engine number & chassis number so make sure they can be easily inspected.

Cheers,
Raz
