MOT & emissions

Not really SVA but pretty close and relevant to most emissions related topics. I just failed my MOT. As of Jan 2003 the car is not visually tested if it was 1st reg after 1998 (inc Q plate)they test to the CURRENT standard umless you can supply proof that a lower std is acceptable. eg manufacturers letter OR evidence that SVA station used a lower standard to test the vehicle. I'm sure that theres a loophole related to engine changes there still
Also take your V% to the MOT as there are new regs that the tester needs to know the date of first registration.
other than a slight fuel leak when idling and a woobly bush all OK. They offered to realign my headlights for £9.75 !! one mole grip later...

My garage man races 4x4's and likes testing something different occasionally. He will happily set up the mixture and align the headlamps as part of the test and do it for a reduced fee as well. There ought to be more like him.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
