vehicle registration
passed sva 24/07/2003 first time well chuffed so went armed to local vro to register car unfortunatley lady who deals with kits on holiday but someone
else stepped in. filled in a v55/5 form handed in my donor vehicle log book.my newly aquired sva certificate and mot, insurance docs and orginal
receipt for kit purchase paid for road tax and £25 registration fee.
the girl said that i would receive an age related plate but this could not be issued until vehicle had been inspected by the police and i would then
receive a reg no through the post along with road tax and other paperwork would be returned.
can anybody tell me if this is the normal procedure as it seems a bit arse about face to me as vehicle details are checked and recorded during the
sva

Don't understand why Plod is getting involved! What are they checking for...fingerprints? It should be a DVLA inspector if anyone who should be
looking at the car, then only to try and determine where the parts are from...one donor for age related or multiple donor for Q plate.

probably just a dizzy secretary confused with the new legislation regarding putting written of vehicles back on the road, you need them inspecting
nowadays. maybe the donor was previously an insurance write of or similar and maybe they want to check what parts have been used to fix it, or
something like that? good luck i guess!
