Problems with fuel tank
Have just got back from 2 weeks holiday, to find were having a heat wave back here.
Went into the garage and was struck by a strong smell of petrol.
Investigating a little further I found that the plastic fuel tank had changed shape, the sides and the bottom had bent inwards, coursing the seams to
leak.
The tank has a vent pipe fitted and only a temporary filler cap at the moment, which is also vented.
Can not understand why the heat has caused the tank to deform.
Has anyone else had similar problems.

my guess is that the vent is one way. when hot, the fuel expands, and expels air. When it cools and air cant come back in, the walls get sucked in.

Any "official statement" on this?
There are many of us on this site who use these tanks, and would like some reassurance...
Any comment, Mr PTM?
cheers,
David
