Aeroscreen hight and mirrors...

Hi Guys and Gals,

Anyone one know of the rules on height of aeroscreens?

I fitted the Luego supplied one to my Viento last night and just sat in it this evening and in a normal seated position I am looking through the top inch or so of screen when looking straight ahead (admitedly the car is on axle stands at the moment so not 100% certain what it will be like a ground level).

Also, exterior mirrors.

I have been looking at fitting my exterior mirrors this evening and got thinking about the swivel rule...

The SVA book states:

"In the case of exterior mirrors mouted ont nearside and offside of the vehicle, that they:
are capable of rotating inwards towards the vehicle when a force of 10kg is applied horizontally at the extreme outer edge from both the front and the rear"
and
"have an axis of rotation to be within 50mm of the vehicle surface to which they are mounted"

It then follows to say that the criteria does not apply to a mirror "which does not protrude beyond the extreme outer edge of the vehicle".

Does that mean that if the mirror is inside the line of the rear arches it doesn't need to swivel inwards? My concern is the mirrors I have do swivel but not what I would call inwards....

Cheers

Mark

Generally on a seven they do not need to swivel as they are within the outline of the bodywork. That is unless you are going to fit some of those they use when towing caravans.
