SVA Question for the Day!!!!
I have been getting rid of various sharp edges this afternoon.
Question....The front Suspension bracket which holds the upper front wish bone is exposed. Does the SVA man just want there to be no sharp edges if
he comes in from the front, or must it have no sharp edges even if he inspects it from the rear?
Cheers in advance,
The Baron

I thought it was just from the front.
Do you wear glasses? If so don't forget to put some trim round the rims!

He'll probably inspect it from the rear too
Ooooh SIR !!!!
If youre talking about the rear of the front upper suspension arm then i wouldnt worry about it too much but things like the bolt and nut that holds
the suspension strut to the lower front suspension arm to the lower wishbone should be covered with a dome cover

As Jos said above, but I had to make sure that my fog lamp bracket was fully covered.
I know this isn't quite the same, as a person could walk into the fog lamp bracket (I'm obviously not going to reverse into anyone without
a reverse gear!).
But if you are doing it, you may aswell do as much as you can see - if there is less for him to find fault with the happier that man (or woman?) will
be! and a happy SVA inspector is what we all want isn't it!

Pretty well everything is inspected fom the rear too
There is no get out for damaging people only in a forwards direction, it is assumed you may have spun and be coliding with them fog light
first

Just cover everything you can see/think of.
Might seem a bit OTT but at least you'll pass andthen you're a free man to do what you want.

The SVA chap explained to me that the rule is there incase someone walks past the car and catches themself... (If they caught themself on mine it
would be me slapping them they'd need to be more concerned about! )
Best bet, it it looks like it has the slightest edge, cover it...
Regarding the front support for the top wishbone, The very end/edge of mine was exposed and all he checked if for was a 2.5mm radius on the edges.
