Lotus VI rebuilt by my late Father-in-Law
I scanned this pic the other day to use somewhere else and I thought that although I have no real reason to post it here, maybe I didn't need
one.....

I have a few, I'll see if I can find them.
The car was bought from Lotus as a kit by Alan Stacey who completed it with my father-in-law's help.
He then went on to build an Eleven which he raced at Le Mans under the 'Team' umbrella.
This led to his development of some of the Grand Prix cars including the 16 and 18 and it was in an 18 in the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa in June of
1960, competing alongside Innes Ireland and 'new boy' Jim Clark, Alan was hit in the face by a bird and was killed.
His brother saw the VI a while ago and bought it back from the owner. The Escort running gear was replaced by my father-in-law with a fire-pump Climax
and MGTC 'box, complete with torque tube.
The green stripe down the middle, grey rings on the wheels and unusual spare wheel arrangement were all recreated as the car was originally built.
The car is still in the Stacey family and is/was competed by Alan's nephew.
