round rear lights morris minor?
Just a quicky,
Does anyone know if the round rear lights the ones like those used on moggy minors are sva compliant, i cant see any sharp edges that would fall foul
to the radius ruling.
Cheers

the sva mark refers to light transmission and rating too.
I think that there is a 'cop out' if you can prove compliance, but how do you do that?
There should be an E number on the lens unless you want hassles.

Landrover ones are similar and are e marked and fairly cheap.
From memory, the moggy ones are made of real glass, which may have some bearing on SVA

I'm using the Land Rover ones - they're still found on current Landies and they are E-marked.
The only 'SVA risk' that I know about is that some SVA inspectors have got upitty about the sharp edge of the screw holes(!) so I intend
to fill them with silicone for the test.

Dave,
My lights do not have screw holes, they are the ones that sit in a circular rubber moulding and have a large circular stainless "washer"
that retains them in the rubber moulding. They are real glass but so are headlights!
Stephen, what do you mean by transmission and rating?cheers

Hi
It really depends on how muh of a jobsworth your tester is.
I dont have my sva manual here, but I think it says you need to demonstrate that lights comply if they are not marked.
So, they need to have correct bulb rating, and transmit an acceptable amount of light. How do you prove light transmission, except by 'looks ok
to me'.
If you have a choice, fit lights with e marks.
If you dont, you have to rely on the examiner, which may be ok.....
