how does the sva man determine if your chassis is good or bad.

All mine did was place a 10ton body jig between the triangulation and ensure it doesnt flex more than 12.7mm (1/2" in old money). Annex G.1a in
the manual.

Bloody hell what a load of bar stewards there are on here, . Its just a visual inspection mate, they look at the welds they can see and check,
(christ knows how), that its suitable for purpose. Cheers Ray

Actually it's a little more complicated in your case Adam as you're designing the chassis yourself.
In your case they look at the triangulation and basically guess based on whether they think it's strong enough based on the 'normal'
cars they see.
Very few people fail this 'test'. As (I think) you are intending to cover the chassis with panels both sides it makes a lot of sense to
take a photo of the naked chassis in case they ask.

So I can stop making that second chassis now thn and get on with the suspension. What a waste of steel.

visual inspection and experience.
SVA tester told me he had one chassis fail and the car looked like it had been assembled by a blind man's dog.
the welds need to look like they will hold and tube member of adequate size, qlthough how they can tell if wall thickneess is up to it is
anybody's guess.

Gosforth told me that they failed a locust once. It was presented by an aged man (i was led to believe 70's) Car had been built over too many
years to remember from mainly mdf (iirc) in a damp garage. Oh yes - SVA tester was able to push his thumb through the 'timber'
chassis
So now you know why they are so cautious at times, and rightly so if you ask me. I still maintain SVA is one of the best things to happen to our
beloved pastime.
At me test nothing was said ref the chassis. Im sure he looked but never said a word.
