How far up the back of the dash??Big picture warning

Comments please on how the sharp edges and radii up the back of the dash/scuttle area might affect my build if I go ahead with these following pictures.

I can only say of my experience of SVA in 2004..

The bottom of the dash has to be 19mm radius.

Everything built in or under, so to speak, has to radiused, IIRC 3-4mm, or 'edged' with trim... I did this and had no problems....and he did look thoroughly.

If you think of what a flaying leg/foot/hand/ arm may come into contact with in, say an 'emergency stop' situation, check it and radii or cover those edges.

Edit.... to correct typos

i'd say fozzie pretty much has it covered, but just a thought......

if you used buttton head bolts on the megasquirt panel and bolted them up the other way so the bolt heads were on the underside of the panel, it'd cut down on a lot of the sharp edges presented, or the number of nut covers you'd need.

it may not be practical but i though it was worth mentioning.

I was going to cover the bottom of the megasquirt panel with foam panel because of these bolts. As I'd already built it all up to fit elsewhere and everything seems to be 2 steps back at the moment.

Don't worry, take heart, its happened to most, if not all of us at some point during the build...

The upside of it at this point is,..... its far better now to sort out possible problems....than even further down the build..... when its not so easy to find a solution without 'major surgery' ....

You'll get there!
