wish me luck
after the last time, when the speedo failed a couple of miles from the test centre i've relocated the sensor on the diff
and the magnets on the half shaft, i'm getting a good signal and there is 1mm of clear air between the sensor and the magnet.
i'm off to the Norwich test centre for 8.30am tomorrow and i'm getting worried now. will the sensor last?
ive recalibrated the speedo and had a little test drive and no clicking or catching of the sensor.
by the end of tomorrow the car will have nearly 400 miles on the clock
the car still runs very rough but it will get ne there and back and will require the revs to be kept up for smooth running
i've got my thermal undies ready and my fingers crossed.

can you not trailer it?
I did that so as to make sure nothing went wrong on the way there.

I wish i had trailered it there last time as the sensor unit would have lasted the test.
i think that the sensor is now ok and clear, its new location meant that i can work on it easily and see the clearances.
the run up to norwich is about 110 miles round trip a good shake down.
the first time it ran up there and back with a misfire but did the round trip. the second time the fan belt snapped and i had to be recovered home,
last time it was just the sensor, but it ran rough up to 3000 rpm and then flew well that my excuse for the speed
still running rough but lets just get it through the test and than i will spend the winter trying to tune the carbs.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
