Brake Pipe Locknut

This may seem like a daft question but do the brake flexis need a locknut on the connection to the caliper. I did try one on my Sierra calipers but there's a machined recess around the connection and the locknut starts fouling and rounding off so I haven't put one on. My thinking being that there's opposing threads on either end therefore it shouldn't work loose. Also on the brake pipe end the thread simply isn't long enough for a locknut and the pipe connecting nut (coupling). Whaddya reckon?

Wahey. Where's my dad. I'm off to tell him I was bloody right. I'm sure he thinks I just throw things together without thinking sometimes. Cheers Tom.
