Windscreen wiper area

What are the official regulations as to the amount of the screen that the wipers clear?

I have my wipers parking either side of the car and meeting in the middle...they leave a 1" gap down the midle of the screen...im not sure if thats ok....

So, anyone know for deffinate what the rules are?

I don't think that will pass I'm afraid - you will effectively have a 1" blind spot down the middle.

Here's the official view though which could be open to interpretation. Rescued attachment scrap.jpg

The question remains, that in your country, none there, none tested. Why bother til after you've been tested at SVA?

On my set up both park to the right, but the area of swept screen is/was only about 110 deg's. So there is/was quite a large triangle in the middle that does not get swept, SVA man made no comment as to this, passed fine. That was at Southampton who are reconned to be "fairly", (or un-fairly), strict. HTH Ray
