doner v5

do i need doners v5 to get a age related
reg , logbook was sent to dvla when doner was strip for parts and can't remember doners reg No also is it posible
to get reg number from engine no at dvla.

Yes.

There are no doubt some stories of exception to this rule but when i did mine the V5 basically served as the proof of original reg (age) and reciept for donor.

The only reason for surrendering V5 on a car that is stripped and no longer fpor the road is to declare scrapped, therefore that car doesnt exist any more. (assuming DVLA do the job properley of course).
